We each offer an initial, free, 15 minute telephone conversation so that we can work out with you whether we are the most appropriate service for your needs.

Following this initial conversation your CHPA practitioner will discuss a plan based on your preferences and our recommendations.

What will happen at the first appointment?

Your first appointment is to discuss the nature of your difficulties, your expectations and goals. The type of help, the recommended number of appointments, and how often you need them will be discussed and agreed. These appointments are usually XY minutes long.

The first session is an assessment of whatever difficulties you have been experiencing. You will be encouraged to talk about any concerns or difficulties you have and together think about what may help. This often includes thinking about past experiences as well as current difficulties. The first session would also include thinking together about what the aims of therapy would be. This means that you decide what you would like to get from the therapy sessions.

Where will I be seen?

We offer to see people on a one-to-one basis at our consulting rooms or over the telephone depending on your practitioner.
